St James Youth Ministry is a Youth Group for High School teenagers, led and organised by a team of young adults, under the direction of Red Lusterio, the Youth Ministry Coordinator.

It is a place for teenagers to have a supportive space to explore what value and impact the Catholic faith has in their daily lives today. Through activities, games, sharings, prayer experiences and opportunities to put our faith in action, we invite the teens to experience more; more friends, more meaning, more activities, more fun and more of God in action in our lives.

During the school term, we meet every Sunday night with Mass at 5pm followed by a BBQ dinner and activities until 8pm. In the school holidays we have multiple one-off activities, such as scavenger hunts, tree-planting, mountain hikes, interstate trips, fire-side prayers and much more.

Red reflects on this ministry saying ‘It is a privilege to journey with the many teens in our Parish. It is an unmatched joy to be with someone when they experience the reality of God by their side and the ‘youth group’ has transformed into a community’.
