The Bible Study ministry is attended and led by parishioners, who love and desire to learn and share their insights on the scriptures. It is an opportunity and forum for everyone to participate in dwelling more deeply into the Word of God and find applications for daily living. It is especially useful for those who have attended our other evangelisation initiatives like the Alpha program and RCIA, to grow more familiar with the study of Scripture and deepen their faith. It helps us to become more effective in other parish ministries and trains us in effective evangelisation and giving witness to the faith. 

St Jerome stated that ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ. The sessions are led each week by members of the group, who prepare and lead the group, encouraging safe sharing of different views, opinions and understanding the rich treasure of wisdom in God’s revelation in His Word. The truth we share is based on Catholic teaching, with emphasis on the ‘why’ beyond the ‘what’ of the faith beliefs we profess.

We meet online each Monday from 7 to 8.15 pm with the flexibility to attend from your home and when you can. We currently have a group of 18 or more regular attendees and have members who join us from other parishes within Melbourne. We are a welcoming group and our discussions are lively and humorous. You will receive the notes of the previous session by email.

Our Coordinator, Clive Gonsalves, has many years of experience in leading bible studies and are well equipped to guide discussions. Details of our weekly online Zoom Meeting link are published weekly in the Parish Bulletin, so hop online and introduce yourself at the start of the meeting.
