Welcoming is the role for all parishioners of St James. Our church needs to be loving and to be compassionate. Part of the role of the Welcome Committee is to assist people in feeling the love of God, not just through words but through words and actions from the people around them. Our parish vision invites us to be a faith-filled, welcoming and caring community.

As a member of the Welcome Ministry for a number of years now, it gives me a great sense of joy to greet people as they enter the doors of our church. In our rapidly growing parish at St James there are new parishioners almost joining us weekly participating in our liturgy and are seeking the opportunity to find a worshipping centre they can call home, have a sense of belonging and share their gifts and talents.

The welcoming committee is a marvellous opportunity for us to reach out to parishioners and assist with any questions they may have about the life of the parish.

We aim to meet new parishioners quarterly and give them a chance to hear our story and respond to any questions they may have. Should you be interested in becoming a member of this ministry, please contact the Parish Office for more details.
