We are the Sunday school run for the Sri Lankan community under the patronage of the Sisters of Holy Angels to inspire children through love, hope and compassion while instilling Christian values and faith. This Sunday school was started in 2009 with less than five kids. With the relentless commitment and generosity of Shiran & Imara Fernando, the school has grown to catechising 60+ children at present. We journey with parents and support their children in their Catholic Faith as they face many challenges in our contemporary world.

Classes Scheduled: We meet on the1st Sunday of each month at St. James the Apostle Church (Ray Centre) 

We conduct three classes: Prep and below/Grade 1, 2 &3/Grad 4, 5 & 6. 

Our Sunday School offers many opportunities for children to feel accepted, grow in faith and embrace the joy of the gospel. Every year, children participate in liturgical and faith-building activities such as Stations of the Cross and the Eucharist. Our children also organise many social activities and charity events including Mother’s day and Father’s day celebrations, fundraising events and annual excursions. In December, our children organise and prepare a Christmas celebration. The ministry that we provide allows children to be part of the community experiencing God’s love with and through others.
