The celebration of the Eucharist is at the centre of Christian life, where members of the community are united in love. Special Ministers of Communion consist of lay people who help to distribute Communion at the masses on the weekends, major celebrations like Christmas and Easter.

New Special Ministers of Communion are usually commissioned at Holy Thursday mass and serve for a designated time based on a roster provided by the Parish Office.

Edo and Angel, a couple who are involved in the ministry, write:

“We have been a Special Minister of Communion for the last 11 years and this ministry has always been so dear to us. It is a very humbling experience every time we serve, to bring Christ’s presence to each one we meet, and seeing Christ present in each person.”
