Knights of the Southern Cross

Hoppers Crossing North branch #177

The Order of the Knights of the Southern Cross (KSC) is an organisation of Catholic laymen who operate with the support of the Australian Bishops.

We are a brotherhood of members from different walks of life and ages, coming together for friendship, fraternity, service, formation and spiritual growth. The Order has a long history of amazing works and outreach, both in Australia and abroad.

Our St James Parish Branch however is new and unique, established just 5 years ago, and we are keen to have new members join, for our branch to grow and thrive. Our service so far has been in the Parish Fete, church grounds, ushering and car park, Stations of the Cross and BBQs. Men in our ministry are often also part of other ministries in the life of the Parish, coming together in fraternity, sharing their unique talents.

We spend time together each month on our spiritual formation, fraternity, support and enjoy social gatherings. We learn, listen, and discuss our common values to help contribute to our intellectual and moral maturity. There’s a sense of responsibility that assists and guides us.

Quite often, the insights in our monthly Formation program learned and shared by the brothers, were thought provoking and enlightening.

The Knights meet monthly, on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 7:30pm in the Ray Centre. Newcomers are always welcome.

Personally, being part of the Knights has helped me to strengthen my faith during tough times. It also provided me with an opportunity to listen to other members of the Knights and pray for them

We spend time together at each meeting on our spiritual formation.

People can get in touch with Binoy Vincent, our current Branch Secretary via the parish office.

The Knights of the Southern Cross also organises the statue of Our Lady of the Rosary.
