The Knights of the Southern Cross is an Order of Catholic Layman whose objectives are to:

(1) Promote the advancement of Australia.

(2) Foster the Christian way of life throughout the nation.

(3) Promote the Welfare of its members and families.

(4) Encourage social and intellectual activities amongst its members. 

(5) Conduct and support educational, charitable, religious and social welfare works

Based on these objectives, they have supported Catholic Charities such as the Priest Support Education Fund and St 

Francis Xavier, St Clare Parish. Financial assistance was raised by their members.

They participate in Formation Programs and write to politicians and public figures on issues that affect the moral wellbeing of the community. They visit members who are sick in hospitals, nursing homes and pray for them at their monthly meetings.
