Welcome to the Media Group!

Watch our Media Group Video!

The Media Group was formed in December 2023 as the Website Group. The initial impetus was to revitalise the Parish website and align it more with Parish missionary objectives. The name change came about as there seemed to be a much broader demand for a revitalisation of website, social media, print sources and displays, all of which have been tackled. The obvious benefit is to update our “shop window” the website and contact a much wider community through social media. Parish Priest Des Moloney has been an enthusiastic supporter with a bemused community slowly getting used to the sight of cameras in and around church and familiar faces staring back at them from electronic sources.

We have been working on documenting in video format the work of many of the groups which make up the life of the Parish, from Music to History to Community. The aim of this is to make the groups more inviting and accessible. Apart from the update of the website, social media has been established on Youtube, Facebook and Instagram with frequent updates. Several print resources have been published including a history of the Parish. A major display on the history of the Parish was presented on the Parish Feast Day and we hope this could be a regular feature.

Some of the skills we use are photography / video production, desktop publishing and design, audio recording, video editing and display work. If you are interested in joining us we can provide training in all these areas.

The Media Group has a role to play in reframing this community as a family within a family under our Lord, Jesus Christ. Archbishop Peter Comensoli has said “at the heart of who we are is not all the buildings but the person of Jesus Christ, who enters into our lives and who we then share with others.” We have a big job ahead of us as we tell the world who we are and who we stand with, our Lord Jesus Christ.
