Welcome to the Collectors Group

A collector at Mass is an individual who plays a significant role in the collection of financial offerings from the congregation. As the Mass progresses, the money basket collectors pass the baskets from one congregant to another. We also have a second person following the collector with a machine that can instantly receive credit and debit card donations. Normally there are two collections, The Presbytery Account collection and the Church Account collection.

Presbytery Account

This collection covers the living expenses of priests assigned to our parish, such as food, housekeeping and car allowance, as well as their stipends. Funds also go towards supporting the Archbishop and sick and retired clergy, and assisting remote and financially burdened parishes.

Church Account

This collection supports church expenses and our parish's missionary work. It covers staff salaries, utility bills, liturgical needs, loan repayments, parish sacramental programs, formation initiatives, and pastoral and evangelisation efforts.

Direct Debit

Increasingly people find it more convenient to organise regular monthly credit card / debit card payments. This commitment can be changed at any time and solves the problem of not having any cash on a Sunday morning!.

Each Mass needs between 4 and 6 collectors. The collectors work respectfully and without interrupting the flow of the service. It is important to maintain a sense of reverence and decorum.

The Parish Offertory Program, which is the way we regularly contribute financially to the Parish, is God's invitation for us to deepen our faith and is a vital part of our identity as Christians.
