A sacristan is a person who is responsible for the sacristy and its contents. Their prime role is to support the Priest with all he needs to preside at Mass. It includes being in the sacristy in Church 20 minutes before the start of Mass and ensuring all is prepared for the Mass. This includes readers lectionary and priests Altar Missal are ready. That the chalice, purificator, corporal, cruets and hosts are ready. Be willing to follow other instructions concerning the Maass that the Priest may have.


A Priest really needs a good sacristan so that he can concentrate on preparing himself for the Holy Mass.
