Ministers of the Word (Lector) proclaim the readings from the Old and New Testaments at Mass. Potential Ministers of the Word must be Catholic and have received the sacrament of Confirmation and have certain natural gifts such as strong and clear voices. Overall, they must have confidence, maturity and sensitivity not only to reach people’s ears but their minds and hearts as well. Through study and prayer, the Minister of the Word develops an understanding of the Word of God and its importance in our celebration of Faith. Ministers of the Word are grouped in teams of two to ensure both a commentator and lector are present at the Sunday Liturgy. If you would like to become a Reader/Commentator, contact the Parish Office on 5975 2200.
