We love to help children and their parents connect with Jesus through the Sacraments. Our sacramental programs are designed as a journey of accompaniment for baptised Catholic children, their parents and ourselves to take together. A journey that with the help of the Holy Spirit will lead them closer to Jesus.

At St Mary of the Cross, we offer the Sacraments for children in local government schools as follows:

Sacrament of Reconciliation - Year 3

Sacrament of First Eucharist - Year 4

Sacrament of Confirmation - Year 6

However, each child can be considered individually even if they are in senior primary school.        

There are various preparation sessions involved with the sacrament, and to ensure that your child is properly prepared for this significant moment in their life, all sessions are mandatory for the child and at least one parent or carer. Generally the preparation sessions, parent's dinner and Commitment and Journey Masses take place over a 6-week period. Preparation sessions are held at St Louis' in Aspendale.
