Parish Leadership Team
The St Mary of the Cross Parish Leadership Team are a trusted operating body of 4 people who support the leadership of Fr Michael. They are co-responsible with Fr Michael for leading the implementation of the parish mission, strategies and actions. The team shares in the parish priest’s responsibility for governance. Striving to be led by the Holy Spirit, this team views the parish as a whole and decides where the Lord is calling for greater health, accountability, and missional activity. Our new parish mission and strategies guide us in this endeavour. The Parish Leadership Team (PLT) members are Fr Michael Kong (Parish Priest), Trish Angliss, Berna Wake and John Field.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Parish Leadership Team member is primarily responsible for:
Leadership:
- Influentially lead and promote a positive culture within the parish and wider community for the Parish Mission and the 4 core focus areas underpinning the mission;
- Develop and implement strategies and events to ensure the understanding and engagement of parishioners and the wider Catholic/Christian communities with the Parish Mission Plan, its priorities and recommended actions;
- Work collaboratively, support and accompany the Parish Serve Ministry teams (Hospitality, Care, Liturgical, Parish Support and Discipleship/Formation) and the Parish Groups;
- Support the Parish Priest in the day-to-day activities of the parish;
- Pro-active and supportive member of the Parish Pastoral Council.
Drive the Parish Mission and Engagement
- Communicate and engage the parish community with the Parish Pastoral Plan and Mission Plan;
- Design and implement the actions that will achieve the goals contained in the Parish Pastoral Plan under the four core focus areas of; Exceptional Weekend Experience, Grow Wider, Grow Deeper and Servant Leadership;
- Undertake a parishioner survey every two years and feedback results;
- Effectively communicate the actions and progress against the Parish Pastoral Plan to the parish community on a regular basis. Set goals, track progress;
- Respond to feedback, queries and concerns from parishioners in a respectful, transparent and timely manner.
