Welcome to the Catholic Parish of Melton’s Sacramental Program for young people who do not attend a Catholic school. As a Parish, we will support you along this journey of preparation.

Parents are the first and foremost teachers of their children’s faith. If parents teach by example and word, children will grow up to be people of Faith – believing in a loving and forgiving God and living a life of love and concern for others.

The Sacraments are a celebration of the life and love of Jesus, they are not magic moments, therefore it is absolutely essential that parents understand each sacrament in order to help and support their child.

Our faith is a living, growing journey with our God. Children deserve the best, all the support, love and care we can give.

In the Catholic Parish of Melton we begin with helping our young people to understand God’s presence in our world, the role of the Church in the world, the story of our faith (the Bible) and the place of prayer in our lives.

SACRAMENT OF PENANCE PROGRAM: for children who are in Year 3 or older.

SACRAMENT OF EUCHARIST PROGRAM: only after the Penance Program – for children who are in Year 4 or older.

SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION PROGRAM: only after the Penance and Eucharist Program for children who are in Year 6 or older.

For our faith to be real and active, our support and encouragement must ring true. Like many parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Melbourne, we, as a Parish, pledge to support and help parents as much as possible.

“The family is a place where we are special,

Where we learn the rules of life to prepare us for the world.

If we grow up in a loving, believing family – We are ready for the world”.
