St Vincent de Paul - St. Brendan's

The Society’s Flemington Conference was founded in St Brendan’s Parish in 1916, and the Society’s Kensington Conference was founded in Holy Rosary in 1922. Home visitation is central to Vincentian outreach in Flemington and Kensington. We visit the vulnerable, trapped in what is often a generational cycle of social disadvantage: the unemployed and homeless, refugees and Indigenous Australians, fractured families and those suffering from addictions, mental illness and domestic abuse. The purpose of face-to-face engagement is to reassure those we visit that we care about their wellbeing. Never pretending that we can solve every problem, our concern is hope-filled rather than judgmental or patronising.
