So we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually we are members one of another. (Romans 12:5) Parish Groups are the lifeline of our parish community and help many within our local community who are in need. We welcome new members to all our groups - please contact each group coordinator or parish office for more information.

Parish Pastoral Council

We have just started this new group as a core group who mobilises the parish life. As this is a new venture to the parish, the working nature and terms of references are still to be decided. But this group will be discussing all that matters in the faith life of the Parish.

We have five members in this group. Looking for one more member.

Religious Education Team

The parish runs religious education to all children to receive sacraments for Reconciliation, First Eucharist and Confirmation.

Tasks like arranging booklet, contacting the families of sacraments, correcting the workbooks, ticking the names off at the information sessions, helping the priest at the information sessions. if you don't like to talk the families it ok. You can do other tasks as well.

Child Safeguarding Committee

Our Parish has established a child safeguarding committee consisting of Fr Martin Jeramias, Sumitha Moses, and Frank Bartosy. Our committee is working to meet our compliance with the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne Safeguarding Children and Young People Framework.

This work will ensure that child safety is embedded within the culture of our parish, and is reflected in the way in which our parish conducts its ministry.  We work in conjunction with the Catholic Professional Standards Unit (CPSU).

Greeters

The parish has a friendly group that welcomes all people at the doors when they attend our Masses. Greeters aim to fulfil the words of our Parish Prayer that says "We…strive to be followers of Jesus by being a welcoming and supportive community…"

Building Maintenance Committe

Our Church building needs much awaited renovation. the building and maintenance committee plans and mobilises in this area.

Altar Servers Group

Altar serving in the Catholic Church has a long standing tradition. An altar server is a lay assistant to a member of the clergy during a Catholic liturgy. An altar server attends to supporting tasks at the altar such as fetching and carrying, ringing the altar bell, helps bring up the gifts, brings up the book, among other things. If young, the server is commonly called an Altar Servers.

While the function of altar server is commonly associated with children, it can be and is carried out by people of any age or dignity. Altar serving in St. Anne's is a prestigious position.

When altar serving they help the minister in many ways. We invite your children who have had First communion to be our Altar Server.

Audio Visual Group

We have a very small group of AV specialists who produce PowerPoint presentations that are shown at Mass on the display screens above the altar.

Baptism Preparation

Jennifer Anderson organises baptism preparation sessions in the parish. She acts as the contact person between families and Fr Martin, and would welcome assistance with her task.

Music Ministry Group 

This group provides live music at selected Masses. we have four groups singing at different Masses. New members are always welcome.

Piety Stall Team

Patricia Morecroft has been working hard to revive our piety stall. She now has a great selection of quality items. Cathy McCue has recently joined Patricia in this endeavour.

Our aim is to help those in need within the parish and our community with short term or emergency aid. The Society’s motto is to “give a hand up not a hand out”. Often this means in addition to help offered by our St Vincent De Paul we may refer some clients on to other welfare agencies. The visits to our clients are always done in pairs by our members as this in their own home.

St Vincent De Paul is different from other welfare organisations because we practice our Catholic Faith which is an essential part in the work we do. The money we need is generated by bequests, donations and revenue generated from our shops. Seaford Conference is reliant on funds being passed on from higher bodies within the Society to finance the work we do.

We meet on the second Wednesday of every month at 7.30pm at the Parish Centre. The meeting finishes at 8.30pm.

Whilst we are always looking for new members, any parishioner who is interested to know more about what we do is most welcome to attend a meeting, or contact Peter.

Christmas Hampers Committee is a sub-committee of St Anne's St Vincent de Paul.

The committee meets on the first Wednesday of each month (generally) at 7.30pm in the parish centre.

The aim of the group is to provide Christmas celebration meals to local families in need (approx. 200+) as determined by the committee, Vinnies during its home visits or as nominated by parishioners or referrals, whilst also assisting in the delivery of Vinnies toys to local families.

During the year we raise funds through "Christmas in July" parish raffle, donations of groceries from St Joachim's school pupils, and a lapathon event run by St Anne's pupils. Also we receive financial and grocery support from local businesses, generous parishioners and local Woolworths supermarkets. In November each year we hold a Sausage Sizzle at Bunnings in Carrum Downs which is of great financial assistance.

Christmas Hamper Committee is open to anyone who wishes to become involved.

Frankston Filipino Seniors Support Group

The Frankston Filipino Seniors Support Group provides a fun & supportive environment for local residents to connect with their peers & form lasting social bond. This year we mark 10th Anniversary of our group. We had a grand celebration at the Holy Family hall.

Legion of Mary / Junior Legion of Mary

The Legion of Mary group meet each Friday at 5pm in the Parish Centre. New members are most welcome.

The Junior Legion of Mary group have commenced and meet on Saturdays at the Parish Centre from 4.00pm. All children are welcome.

RCIA

St. Anne’s Parish is running an RCIA program during 2023-2024.

The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults programme (RCIA) is run in the parish for those who are considering becoming Catholic. Currently we have 5 adults preparing to receive sacraments.

When the program is run this usually begins in around June Through to Easter, through to Pentecost in the year following enrolment, and therefore is a full 10 month program.

You will be required to attend an enrolment and information evening, with a minimal cost for the program. You will also need to have a bible for scriptural sessions. The bible you will need is the Jerusalem Bible or the Revised Standard Version Bible—Roman Catholic editions only as other versions of the bible are not adequate or lack some books.

This is an adult group so respect for all opinions is required and we ask that people be open-minded. What is said in the group is confidential so people can be free to share their own experiences, thoughts and feelings.

Seaford Housing Action Coalition (SHAC)

SHAC is a local community group providing solidarity with the homeless and those at risk of homelessness. It was commenced a few years ago by the St Anne’s Social Justice group.

We normally meet in St Anne’s Parish Centre on the second Thursday evening of each month.  We warmly encourage parishioners to come.
