OLPH Ringwood Commitment to Safeguarding Children and Young People
In the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne, the safety and wellbeing of all persons is considered to be our highest priority. It is acknowledged that children, young people and adults at risk may require additional safeguards to promote their participation, wellbeing and safety. Clergy, employees and volunteers are committed to upholding the right to safety of all persons, and participating in a creating a culture of safety supported by policies, practices and procedures that strive to prevent abuse in the first instance and to respond appropriately and effectively if abuse does occur.
The Parish of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Ringwood holds the care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people as a fundamental responsibility of the Church. This commitment is drawn from, and inherent to, the teaching and mission of Jesus Christ, with love, justice and the dignity of each human person at the heart of the Gospel. A culture of safety within the Church ensures that children can actively and fully participate in the life of the Church and realise their potential in a faith community.
The Parish has adopted the Safeguarding policies and practices of the Archdiocese. In order to undertake any volunteer position in the parish you must hold a current Working With Children Check which can be done HERE or HERE. You will also be asked to read the Safeguarding Policy and read and sign the Code of Conduct.
