Holy Name Parish has an established Memorial Wall on the North side of the Parish Church. The construction of modern brick walls in a group of three provides niches to hold cremated remains and a bronze plaque over the front of the niche to commemorate the deceased members of our Parish Community. 

The facility is set up in the same way as in public cemeteries but with the advantage of being located in the grounds of the parish church. Each niche is designed to hold a small standard sized container of the deceased person’s ashes.

The niche will be sealed off across its opening with a bronze plaque bearing the details of the deceased. A lawn area, with seats and suitable shrubs and roses will surround the three walls. Fences and gates will ensure the area is kept secure. The Memorial Walls are set out in three sections and have some 300 available spaces.

Relatives of the deceased will have to make their own funeral/cremation arrangements and deliver the container of ashes to the Management Committee. If there are no cremated remains to be stored a niche and plaque will be available as a memorial site for the same cost. Niches are all numbered and will be allocated in sequence.

The Memorial Wall is available to parishioners of Holy Name, their families and to others who can establish a connection with Holy Name. Exceptions will be at the discretion of the Management Committee.

The bronze plaque will be of a standard uniform size and will be supplied through a nominated supplier. Plaques and niches are supplied on a permanent basis. The Management Committee can arrange to store containers of ashes pending the manufacture and delivery of the bronze plaque.

Samples of plaques and a list of appropriate wording is available. Plastic flowers are not permitted. Relatives can arrange blessing and consecration of the plaque directly with the Parish Priest.
