First Communion
In the sacrament of Eucharist we remember what Jesus did for us in his life, death and resurrection. We remember particularly the Last Supper, that final meal Jesus shared with his disciples. At that meal, Jesus gave us the Eucharist so that we could remember him in a special way. When we receive Communion, we believe that we receive the person of Jesus into our very beings. We become one with him, and we become one with each other. As a community we become 'the body of Christ'.
Children from Grade 4 and up are invited to participate in classes in preparation for First Holy Communion. Children attending Good Shepherd School undertake classes during school time.
For children who attend a school other than our parish school, Good Shepherd Parish provides preparation for the Sacrament of First Holy Communion.
Enrolments for Sacramental Preparation Classes commence in February each year (dates are published in the Parish Bulletin and on the Parish Website). If you wish to enrol your child to attend these classes please contact the Parish Office on (03) 7064 3994 or email mulgrave@cam.org.au
