Farewell & Thank You Fr Jean Sebastien

15 Oct 2026

Farewell Father Jean-Sébastien, Good Shepherd and St Justin’s Parishes extend our deep gratitude to you, for your selfless ministry over the past two years. We have been truly blessed to be the first parishes to which you were appointed following your Ordination to the priesthood. You have been a wonderful priest, generously sharing your faith, kindness, and abundant joy with all of us.

This kindness shows in everything you do—from cooking Christmas lunches and assisting those experiencing difficult times, to visiting people at home and in the hospital, and always listening and checking in on how everyone is doing. Your enthusiastic participation in parish events has added life to our community, most recently keeping the beat on the drum box and as co-MC at the over-55s bingo event. You have a gift of making people of all ages feel seen, and your ability to connect so naturally with our young people has earned you their deepest respect. Your bright smile, enthusiasm, singing, and self-deprecating humour all convey a deep and infectious joy.

In scripture, we read about the qualities of a good shepherd, and we have seen those very qualities lived out through your ministry every day. We are profoundly grateful for your gentle pastoral care, and for walking alongside us on our journeys.

We will miss you greatly, but we understand that God is now calling you to share your gifts with a new community. We wish you every blessing, joy, and success in your next appointment at Good Shepherd parish in Gladstone Park.

Fr Jean-Sébastien, we will continue to pray for you, and we send with you our deep gratitude and warm affection.

May God bless you always. The Parishioners of Good Shepherd and St Justin’s
