Volunteering at St Mary's

At St Mary's volunteers may undertake a variety of roles:

  • A member of the Parish Council, Finance Committee or Safeguarding Team
  • Member of the Fundraising and Outreach Committees
  • Sacristan
  • Lectors
  • Sacramental Preparation
  • Prepare the flowers in the church
  • Church cleaning
  • Musician/Singers
  • Gardening Group


It is a legal requirement that all volunteers in Catholic Parishes hold a current Working With Children Check. This must be linked to the parish either at the time of applying for a WWCC or on starting to volunteer at the parish.

Volunteers also need to read and sign the Parish Code of Conduct which can be found here

Volunteers are required to complete the Safeguarding Essentials online training module which can be accessed here
