The YOUTH of our community are our FUTURE and need to have a voice and a place where they are welcomed, feel safe and can enjoy social activities, experience their faith and become contributing members of our community.

St Macartan's Parish, pride ourselves in being open to ALL youth of all ages from:

• 5 months to 5 years (ST MACS PLAYGROUP) - Wednesdays 9am - 11am @ 10 Drake St
• 5 yrs old to 11 yrs old (Children's Liturgy) - Sundays during 11am Mass
• THIS HAS BEEN SUSPENDED - PENDING REVIEW: ENLIVEN @St Macs Primary school aged youth (was Encounter)

MISSION

The mission of the St Macartan’s Parish is an unequivocal commitment to fostering the dignity, self-esteem and integrity of young people and providing them with a safe, supportive, and enriching environment to develop spiritually, physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially. 

• EMPOWER @St Macs - Teenagers empowered with responsibility, to assist leaders and participate more fully within the Church

EMPOWER is for High School aged teenagers. 

This operates also on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month, with plans to extend this to every week at 11am Mass.

EMPOWER is their to empower teenagers in participating more fully in the liturgy by encouraging them to realise their own charisms - abilities and skills. Or develop new ones by assisting in:

. Reading at Mass

. Welcomers at Mass

. Assisting with Audio Visual (AV) operator

. Assisting in the choir

. Assist with children's liturgy

etc.

 The EMPOWER youth will also be given the opportunity, after mass, to assist adults in helping with the ENLIVEN group. Being used as is appropriate for their age, with adult supervisors at all times and obeying all child safety requirements. 

We ask all leaders of 11am Mass, to assist in empowering our older youth in our Liturgy.

 We hope we can cater for all our Youth, in our community of faith.

• (QUINN'S PLACE) High school aged youth. Every Friday 6pm-10pm @ 10 Drake St
• Young adults 18-25 (Youth Leaders) Support and assist in all groups above.

These groups were created to meet the needs of the youth and are evolving as other needs and wants come around.

Our Parish / Our Local Community / Our Society / Our future World - Will one day rest in the hands of the YOUTH that we see around us Today!

Let us work together and prepare these Youth as best we can. Let us help them showcase their God given gifts and talents, let us encourage them to be socially aware and respectful to all. Let us help them avoid the perils of wrong choices.

At St Macartan's, we use Jesus Christ as our role model - as there is no one better, as He represents all that is Good.
