Accompanying children and families in sacrament preparation

Our parish offers sacramental preparation for Reconciliation, First Eucharist and Confirmation for baptised catholic children from non-catholic schools and others who request the Catholic Sacraments for their children.

Our sacramental programs are designed as a journey of accompaniment for children and their parents to take together, gently guided by our facilitators.

A journey that with the help of the Holy Spirit will lead them closer to Jesus.

Generally, the length of the programs are 6 weeks, beginning with a parent's dinner.

The dates for our Sacramental Journey Programs in 2026 are:

First Reconciliation - Tuesday 28 April - Tuesday 2 June

Confirmation - Tuesday 16 June (Break for School Holidays 27 June – 12 July). Recommence Tuesday 14 July until Thursday 6 August

First Eucharist - Tuesday 1 September (Break for School Holidays 19 September – 4 October). Recommence Tuesday 6 October until Sunday 25 October

The programs involve the child and at least one parent and generally occur over a 6-week period. All sessions occur on Tuesday afternoons from 4-5pm at St Louis de Montfort - 37 Dolphin St Aspendale (with the exception of the Parents Dinner at the start of the program, the Presentation Mass, the Journey Mass of Commitment and the actual Sacrament).
