In November 2021 our Parish registered as an Earthcare Parish
In 2015, Pope Francis' encyclical Laudato Si’ was published, imploring us to care for our common home. To escalate the implementation of Laudato Si’, Pope Francis has established the Laudato Si’ Action Platform with 7 Goals for us to work towards. The Catholic Earthcare Parish Program provides a process to assist us on the journey towards these 7 goals and to becoming living Laudato Si’ communities. The first step has been to identify and celebrate what we are already doing to care for creation. We have an Earthcare team who meet regularly on Zoom with representatives from each of the two church communities, two school communities, the Parish leadership team and the Justice Action Group.
