Child Safeguarding
The parish has a Child Safeguarding Team to protect all children within the parish and community.
The team is currently working through available resources to document parish policies to meet the requirements of the Archdiocese and Government authorities.
The team consists of:
- Brian Twining - brian.twining@cam.org.au
- Meg Wright - mwright@spjemoroolbark.catholic.edu.au
- Michal McLindon - mclinoffice@gmail.com
If you have any concerns about the safety of children in the parish or about inappropriate behaviour within the parish environment, please contact one or all of the team by email.
Depending on the nature of the concern, you could also contact the office on mooroolbark@cam.org.au.
In an emergency, you should contact the police on 000.
For more information go to the Documents and Forms tab on the Menu or click on the links below
Refer specifically to the policy attachment - Reporting Child Safety Issues
Please look at the other attachments for an understanding of what is required from parishioners.
If you have any questions about the implementation of our policies please contact the team or the parish office.
Working with Children Checks
All parish volunteers must hold a current Working with Children Check card.
Volunteers who already have a card are asked to come to the office to have the details recorded.
Holders are also required to add St Peter Julian Eymard Parish to their WWCC profile.
Those that do not have a card need to apply for one either online or at the post office.
If you need assistance with this please contact the parish office on (03) 9723 4275.
All volunteers means everyone who assists the parish in any capacity.
Policies
Policies are reviewed and updated to reflect the current legislation and when guidance documentation from the Archdiocese is available.
