Children’s Liturgy takes place at the 9.45am and 11.15am Mass at St John's. After the Penitential Act, the children and a leader move to the Narthex where the children listen to the same Gospel as the rest of the community using a children’s version of the scripture reading. This provides the children with the opportunity to listen to the Word of God at their own level of understanding. 

During their time together the children and the leader pray, listen to the Gospel and interpret the Gospel through discussion and story-telling. At times visual aids and props may be used and a work sheet is started and then taken home to be completed with family members. The worksheet contains prayers and opportunities to colour, draw and write. Working with children in this ministry is always delightful as they are eager to participate and so often provide a new and refreshing view. All leaders are trained and have undergone a Working with Children Check. New leaders are always welcome and will receive training.
