St Luke's Sacramental Preparation Program 2026

9 Nov 2025

Welcome to our Sacramental Program for young people who do not attend a Catholic school or attend a Catholic secondary school but have not received one or more of the sacraments in this program.

In the sacrament of Baptism, your child was welcomed into the Catholic faith, and you made a promise to do all that you can to make that faith a lived reality in your home. Parents (guardians) are the most significant people in nourishing a child’s faith. Faith is a gift of God that is encouraged by example and instruction; it is both lived and learnt.

If parents teach by example and word, children will grow up to be a person of faith – believing in a loving and forgiving God and living a life of love and concern for others. As a Parish, we will support you along this journey of sacramental preparation for your child.

The Sacraments are a celebration of the life and love of Jesus. Therefore, to help and support your child throughout the preparation, we ask that a parent (guardian) attend each session with your child.

Our program begins with helping our young people understand God’s presence in our world, the role of the Church in the world, the story of our faith (the Bible) and the place of prayer in our lives. For our faith to be real and active, our support and encouragement must ring true. We pledge to support and help you as much as possible. Our faith is a living, growing journey with our God. Your child deserves the best, all the support, love and care we can give.

“The family is a place where we are special,

Where we learn the rules of life to prepare us for the world.

If we grow up in a loving, believing family – We are ready for the world.”
