The Sacrament of Marriage
The Sacrament of Marriage
Catholic marriage is a sacred and lifelong covenant in which God unites a man and a woman in faithful, free, life-giving, and exclusive love. This vocation reflects God’s own love—generous, enduring, and directed toward the good of the other. Through marriage, each spouse helps lead the other closer to God while remaining open to the gift of life.
“Love is patient; love is kind… It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”
— 1 Corinthians 13:4–7
Marriage is more than a celebration—it is a mission to love as God loves: freely, totally, faithfully, and fruitfully.
