St Martin Of Tours Primary School
St Martin of Tours Primary School is a medium-sized Catholic primary school, located 16 km north-east of Melbourne, on the same site as our Church. Our students live in areas in and surrounding Rosanna, Macleod, Viewbank and Heidelberg. The philosophy of St Martin of Tours is to provide a Catholic education to all children in the parish. No child is disadvantaged due to a family’s inability to pay fees.
We believe that God is present in all we do, and the Gospel values of love, kindness, respect, concern for others and social justice are woven through every aspect of school life. Each child is nurtured and supported to develop their potential intellectually, spiritually, emotionally, socially and physically.
Our school motto, ‘Non recuso laborem’ – ‘We shall not refuse the task’ - reflects our belief in the value of hard work and perseverance in achieving our goals. Every individual is encouraged to aspire to excellence in all areas of life.
We are fortunate to have highly committed staff members, supportive parents, a welcoming school community and friendly students who value learning. Our students are foremost in all our learning and activities. Our teaching and learning approach is in line with the MACS ‘Vision for Instruction’ model, with explicit teaching in all areas of the curriculum. St Martin’s is also fortunate to provide specialist teaching in the areas of Physical Education (PE), Digital Technologies/STEM, Performing Arts, Visual Arts and LOTE (Italian).
