Funeral

A Catholic funeral is a sacred rite in which the Church commends the soul of the departed to God’s mercy and offers prayerful support to those who mourn. Rooted in the hope of the Resurrection, the funeral liturgy affirms that death is not the end but a passage to new life in Christ.

In this time of grief, we gather in faith to entrust our loved one to God’s loving care, to draw strength from Scripture and prayer, and to support one another with compassion and Christian hope.

“I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, even though they die, will live.”

John 11:25

The Christian funeral is more than a farewell—it is a proclamation of Christ’s victory over death and a prayerful reminder of God’s promise of eternal life.
