Catechist Program
St Martin of Tours Parish Catechist Program for the Sacraments
Welcome to the St Martin of Tours Parish Catechist Program for the Sacraments.
This program is run entirely by the Parish and coordinated by our Parish Pastoral Associate, Sr. Maria Bui. It is designed for children who live in and worship at St Martin of Tours Parish but do not attend the parish primary school.
Through this program, families are supported in preparing their children to receive the Sacraments and to grow in faith as part of our parish community.

Eligibility and Sacrament Order
Children must be baptized before enrolling in the Catechist Program and must meet the following age requirements:
- Grade 3 and above – Reconciliation (Confession)
- Grade 4 and above – First Eucharist (First Holy Communion)
- Grade 6 and above – Confirmation
Please note:
- Baptism and Reconciliation are prerequisites for First Communion.
- Reconciliation and First Communion are prerequisites for Confirmation.
Class Schedule for 2026
Catechist Classes are held on Sunday mornings at 11:00 am, following the 10:00 am Mass.
Families are encouraged to attend Mass together, after which children join their class for about 50-60 minutes.
Parents and families are warmly invited to enjoy morning tea in the school hall and connect with other parishioners while their children are in class.

The Sacramental Program includes compulsory information sessions, attendance at weekend Mass, and participation in Catechist Classes.

We request a contribution per program to help cover the cost of Sacramental materials:
