My journey to the Catholic Church
Jenny received Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Communion at the Easter Vigil in April 2023
"Having parents with conflicting beliefs, I had always been told that I would have to wait until I was eighteen to formally convert to Catholicism. Although our mother still tried to raise us in the faith where possible, I regrettably lost interest for several years. At the age of seventeen, however, I began to find my life lacking, with little sense of purpose. Concerns that had previously dominated my mind began to seem trivial, as I came to more fully appreciate the fragility and brevity of earthly life.
Feeling restless, I found myself turning back to the church. In Christ, I found the clarity, peace, and security for which I longed, and that could only ever be received through a relationship with Him. My conversion has therefore allowed me to recognise my complete dependence upon God, which, as I came to realise, is more to be rejoiced in than feared."
