Beginnings of Christendom

Christendom has its beginning in the Christianization of the Roman Empire. A very important moment was the conversion of the Roman Emperor Constantine (306 to 337) to Christianity. Eventually Christianity became the official religion of the Roman State. By 394, it was technically illegal to be a pagan. -This Time of the Church by Frank O'Loughlin (p. 13-14).
