Baptism at St. Matthews

Baptisms are only available by appointment.

Please note a Baptism information form. must be completed before a booking is made.

For those being baptised in other Parishes a “Confirmation of baptism form” is available from the Parish Office.

 All baptisms are held on Sundays at 12.30 pm.

 In addition to the form we require:

 A birth certificate for your child,

A baptism certificate for either father or mother.

A "permission to baptise in another parish letter" (if you do not live within the boundaries of the Fawkner North Parish) – from your local parish.

 NB. At lease one god parent must be catholic (documentation not required).

 The baptism date will be confirmed once all of the above documentation is supplied to us.

A donation to the Priest for conducting this service is greatly appreciated. Please give your donation to the Parish Priest on the day of the Baptism.

Permission to baptise outside the Parish

If you planning to Baptise your child at another Parish you will be required to provide the place of Baptism with a “Permission to Baptise Outside of the Parish” letter. Please email (fawknernorth@cam.org.au) or contact the parish (7036 9380) with the following information:

·    Name of child

·    Name of Parent/s

·    Address of Parent/s

·    Date of Baptism

·    Name and Address of Church where baptism will occur
