Why are we celebrating this way?

You may be wondering why we are having a Dinner Dance to celebrate our 57th Year anniversary.

There are several reasons:

· St Damian’s community strives to be a people who care for one another and have genuine concern for the wider community.

· Through Covid-19 many of us were isolated and as a community of St Damian’s it was challenging for us to remain connected; to celebrate mass in person as a community and to engage on a personal /community level and with the wider community.

· A feast day dinner dance will enable us to all: Celebrate together - Connect Together - Build our community.

· On a personal level there are many people at St Damian’s that l don’t know that well or don’t know at all so a dinner dance provides a great opportunity for me.

· Historically Parish Celebrations have also involved our tireless volunteers working and serving the community on the day. We are thankful for our volunteers’ efforts, but it is important that everyone has the opportunity to fully celebrate and enjoy this occasion.

· An important reason for our Dinner Dance is to fundraise for our Parish Solar Panel System. Solar Panels are quite expensive however the long-term investment will significantly reduce the operating costs and enable to ensure that our Church can continue to be a comfortable place to pray and worship as a community.

What will celebrations involve?

· Feast Day Celebrations will begin with Mass at earlier time of 5 pm at St Damian’s. The welcoming time will be commencing at 6.00 pm – 11.00 pm at Loyola Companions Hall – Address: 325 Grimshaw St, Watsonia VIC 3087

PRIZES: Cost of Tickets will be $60 for adults - $25 for children under 8 years old – Free for children under 4 years old.
